how it works

2. Choose the service plan that best meets your needs.

   1. Bi-Weekly Service - $24/mo. (Pickup every other week, 1 Bucket)

   2. Weekly Service - $32/mo. (Pickup every week, 1 Bucket)

   3. Weekly Service x2 Buckets - $42/mo. (Pickup every week, 2 Buckets)

3. We’ll deliver, to your door, a clean 5-gallon bucket with a secure lid and a compostable liner. You’ll also receive an infographic card explaining what can and cannot be composted. (For an additional fee you can purchase items such as a kitchen caddy and liners to make composting at home even easier, as well as awesome swag, such as stickers, yard signs, hats and t-shirts showing off your O-Town Compost pride.)

4. Start filling your bucket with food scraps, leftovers, and other compostable waste. It doesn’t matter if it’s cooked, raw, wet, or dry. (Click here for a list of acceptable, compostable items, you can use to fill your bucket.)

5. On your pickup day, leave your bucket outside your door, and we’ll swap it for a clean, sanitized bucket. (Depending on the notification option you choose in your customer account, you’ll receive either a text message or email reminder the night before your pickup day.)

6. Twice per year you can order free compost from your customer shop to amend the soil in your yard, gardens, and potted plants, or it gets donated to one of our farm partners.

7. You’ll also have access to our special recycling service that easily allows you to order a pickup of your batteries, textiles, lightbulbs, plastic film, paint, books, small electronics, cords and wires, for a small additional fee.

• It saves money and uses less single-use plastic trash bags. (Many of our customers take 3 to 4 times as long to fill one trash bag.)

• Twice a year we give you finished compost. Use this compost to amend the soil in your yard, garden, and potted plants or donate it to our farming partners.
