O-Town Compost offers its expertise in making your event “Green.” Our event services vary based on client needs;
Consultation: Before the event begins we coordinate with all event vendors on purchasing and develop a system to manage the event’s waste. We can assure the wedding is using truly "compostable" serviceware that will breakdown in our compost process.
Providing Infrastructure: Assuring the correct number of bins and bags are present at the event with delivery and pickup.
Bin Placement and Signage: We optimization the placement of recycling, refuse, and food waste bins, as well as provide signage to minimize guest confusion and contamination.
On-site Monitoring and Sorting: To keep the waste stream clean and minimize back-end effort, we will provide an on-site “waste ambassador” to assist with the flow of waste during the event.
Hauling and Processing of Food Waste: Just like it sounds, we will remove food waste and take it back to our facility for composting. If your venue doesn’t have recycling, we’ll assure the recyclables are collected without contamination and end up in the right bin.
Hauling of Recyclables: Most Central Florida wedding venues don't have recycling. If your chosen venue is one of them, we’ll assure the recyclables are collected without contamination.
Data Collection and Reporting: Following the event, we inform you of your positive environmental impact with key metrics, like pounds diverted from the landfill.
Donation of Compost: We donate a share of finished compost to Fleet Farming or 4 Roots Farm based on the food waste generated from your event.
